An Intimate Immensity — (Mark Making) : 2003 - 2016

"Her bright abstract works come to life on the page, bringing with them senses of dense, forested jungles, swirling rivers, the laugh of a child."
- Paige Ferro, Holter Museum of Art

“I hunt for a rapid instinctual affair of building on a surface.
A reckless advance in the studio, brush and fingers consort for color. I melt, mix, smear, scratch, drip, dash and drive into my work. Come fly among my marks; tangle with my mood. My color builds fast and reacts." - Leah Cupino

Leah Cupino shares that furious hail storm, or feather on the mountain wind, the freshly hung salmon slabs alongside an Alaskan river on a brilliant blue day, the smell of fresh basil bush, and limitless giggles of her three little boys. She relishes in the indescribable in-between, winding space and color around her exuberance..

The works below are comprised of acrylic paint, ink, charcoal and pastel on either canvas, acrylic panel, or polymer film. They range in size anywhere between 4x6 and 36x60 inches.

A limited number of paintings and commissions each year from this series are considered by the artist. Inquire for more information.
